My Background
With a degree in Nursing, I have worked as an RN in home-care, hospice, and extended care facilities. I also have a degree in comparative religious studies and have worked in transformational workshops where listening was a central practice. There I spent thousands of hours listening with presence to hundreds of people from diverse backgrounds, who shared their deepest pains, fears, hopes and dreams. That experience showed me that all human beings carry so many unspoken stories within, and how powerful it is to simply have a loving witness to hear those stories. The healing power of listening is so palpable.
Also, now that I'm in my 50's, I've experienced so many of life's ups and downs for myself. I would say that life itself has taught me to listen more deeply. It has humbled me and opened my mind; and it has taught me the importance of trusting one's own journey and looking within to find our own answers.
